Children and youth who are exposed to domestic violence experience negative emotional, mental, and cognitive development that impacts their future wellness. To positively respond to the overwhelming issues associated with domestic violence, school professionals need to understand these issues and know how to identify, assess, and provide appropriate support to children and youth affected by domestic violence. This course frames domestic and intimate partner violence in terms of its impact on children and youth and outlines strategies that school staff can use to support students and families affected by violence.
A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion that may be used to satisfy Professional Development requirements.
