Opioid abuse is a national public health issue. Timely response to opioid overdose can save lives. This NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) approved webinar provides training for NYS schools that choose to implement Opioid Overdose Prevention and allow naloxone administration by school staff who are not medical professionals. It has been approved under section 3309 of Public Health Law for Opioid Overdose Prevention Training.

After successful completion of this training, the learner will receive a certificate of training in opioid overdose prevention, valid for two years.  The NYSED strongly encourages an annual review to ensure that understanding and skills in opioid overdose response are current and timely. Therefore, the course will be available for your periodic review. Two years after successfully competing, you will be reenrolled in the Opioid Prevention course.

You must receive 100% on the Post Knowledge Check to successfully complete the course.

A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion that may be used to satisfy Professional Development requirements.
