Human Trafficking Awareness Training For School Personnel

This presentation will provide information for school personnel, which will increase awareness and understanding of human trafficking and help school personnel recognize warning signs of youth who may be victims of human trafficking, what to do if human trafficking is suspected, and resources for assisting victims of trafficking. This presentation will define human trafficking and recruitment and identify risk factors and indicators of human trafficking. Information regarding the increased risks of substance use disorders, sexually transmitted infections, and the impact on learning for trafficked youth will also be shared. 

 

About the Presenter:

Christine Anderson is the Anti-Trafficking and Runaway and Homeless Youth Coordinator at the Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) in the division of Youth Development and Partnerships for Success. In that role, she also acts as the statewide coordinator for the Safe Harbour NY program.

 

A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion that may be used to satisfy Professional Development requirements.
